This is a pretty complex requirement for the page.
Not only will the Duke not pick up the gun without purpose, he also won’t shoot the Detective unless his back is really up against the wall.

How to do it
Panel 1
Start by using a Witness scene and place the Duke.
Panel 2
Use a Ballroom scene and have the Duke witness the Duchess flirting with the King.
Panel 3
Use a Gun scene to have the Duke take the gun.
Panel 4
Use another Witness scene and place the Detective.
Panel 5
Use another Ballroom scene and have the Detective witness the Duke kill the King.
Panel 6
Use yet another Witness scene; place the Duke again.
Panel 7
Place a Ballroom scene and have the Duke witness the Detective tell the Duchess what he saw.
Panel 8
Use a final Ballroom scene to have the Duke shoot the Detective.
